Update!

I received "it" today.

The 35-70/4 is, as described, without rubber grips, and effectively a 35-40
zoom - otherwise jammed, but focus is just fine, and glass looks pretty
clean.

The 35-70/3.6 is, unfortunately, a different story. The rubber grips are
present but slightly loose. The zoom function is fully operational. The
focus helical feels like it has a bit of hardened grease at the infinity
end, such that as received the lens would only focus to 100 feet distant.
Gentle pressure has pretty much fixed that, there is no other significant
problem with the lens - clean glass, some bright marks on the focus ring.
So, unfortunately for the seller, a near "prime" example of a non-prime lens
for less than USD50 shipped.

I am happy :-)

Does anyone want the 35-70/4 at shipping cost?

Hello Piers

What was the problem with your 3.6? The one I got recently is jammed for
focus and zoom. Both barrels check to be round, so it has to be internal
components. I was wondering if this is a common problem with this lens.
