Reputable and reliable. A number of us have them. It is basically just
an appropriate diode in a shell that is the size and shape of the old
mercury batteries.

In theory, the meter can't be made quite as linear with them as with the
original batteries, but the difference is small and it's better than any
other alternative. There is a lengthy treatise on the gory details of
possible solutions on the web <http://www.buhla.de/Foto/batt-adapt-US.pdf>.

Generally will drop right in and give fine results. But you should check
the meter against a known good one or take some tests shots if working
with slide film and/or doing work that requires spot on exposures.

With the MR9 converter, pay attention to the battery you use. Early ones
took any of the many Silver Oxide batteries in the 357/SR44 size. The
newer ones take a slightly thinner battery, the 386. The thicker
batteries will fit in the adapter and work on most OM-1(n) bodies, but
may cause problems in some.
