Better than depraved, I guess, but not nearly as much fun.
My new laptop is able to run Raw Shooter Essentials. None of my
other computers had the horsepower (or OS) to do it. Forget my
trying to use the RAW converter with Elements 3.0. That really
tanks in comparison. It's nice to have the extra knive in the
drawer, but it'll be good for slicing carrots or something that
I never eat.
Oh, and I'm definitely scoring a full USAF res chart step
increase in detail too with RSE. Unbelievable. That poor A1 is
going to see a whole new life, instead of being relegated to
redheaded stepchild status. I worked another picture of the
Grand Canyon that just sent shivers up my spine. In less than a
minute I was able to take it from drab and blaaah to "youse
wanna buy a print, buddy?" It grabbed me by the squeaker and
shook me down for loose change.
That's what I call good software. I'm not easily impressed by
software (having worked in that industry too long), but those
guys and girls at pixmantic have done it. I'll be giving it a
good workflow workout and if it scores like I think it will,
I'll just have to buy the full-blown version. Just for what it
has done for the A1 files is well worth the hundred bucks.
I know, it isn't perfect, but it sure is more perfect than what
I'm used to. As soon as I wrap up this mammoth wedding reprint
order I'll dive into it and generate some fresh stuff for the
website.
