Ha! I just had the opposite experience. Bought a lens from B&H which they
shipped via UPS with "adult signature required". They showed up three
times, each while my wife and I were working so it's on its way back to NY.
UPS cleverly decided to not make an attempt last Friday (which is the only
day I was not working) even when I called to ask them to do so.
