Yes, my EIZO 17" L568 is much better than my Sony 17" CRT, at least I can 
distinguish every blocks on dpreivew's grey bar and at the same time get 
brilliant whites and rich backs. For the Sony I only got a dull screen when 
I tried to get every grey blocks distinguishable.
