Not really. With a Bayer sensor you get a point for every pixel that
is advertised. Only its color is interpreted. With the Foveon you are
only getting 3.4 MP. You are getting 3 pieces of color information
for each of the 3.4 MP and they are trying to fool you that it is
resolution.
The thing is that the Bayer sensor has limitations that reduce its
resolution and the Foveon seems to get closer to its actual
resolution. So the Foveon 3.4 MP looks much better than a 3MP Bayer.
Again it is believing your eyes and not relying on numbers to tell
you what you think you see.
