Just checked my champagne mju II - though the black paint is showing
through, but without film loaded when I open the cover the lens pops out
for a second or so before going back to its recessed position, when I
close the cover the lens is already recessed so it doesn't move. When
open and shutter pressed the lens pops out for the shot and then returns
to the recessed position, hope that helps.
