Nice Jab!

Howsomever, I was for decades an Oly advocate much like certain Mac
worshipers. I still feel that way about the OM series.

My switch to a 300D for DSLR and other brands for digi P&S was made
reluctantly, but correctly, using essentially the evaluation process AG
recently outlined so well. The Oly alternatives simply didn't match my
personal criteria nearly as well as other brand/models.

My basic contention was that, for me, there is no such compelling
differences in capabilities between Mac and PC.

I certainly agree that there are ergonomic, and to a lesser extent,
feature/performance failings in the 300D and the F10. I would go further
in saying that the lack of a wheel for setting shutter speed in Tv mode
and aperture in Av mode to the F11 make the addition of these modes
almost valueless over the F10 for me. To have to go into the menu system
to change the setting is just silly. I can see why they did it, they
could add 'advanced' features to a very successful camera and produce a
new model with only very minor changes other than in programming. I ca't
see why it would be worth paying for.

Nonetheless, I still am happy that I made the best decisions for myself
from what was available when I bought these cameras. Both still please
me quite a bit in use and very much in results.Michael is right about
the mirror lock up in Can*ns, just stupid and slooooow.

And when the sensor from the F10 shows up in the F810 body, or even
maybe the E550 body, Or how about an 810 style body with aux lens
capability? I'll have to grab my wallet to keep the $ from jumping out
to buy one. That sensor/processor is just plain a whole generation ahead
of the pack for P&S/compact cameras - magic.
