Andrew,

I've tried to learn some Dutch while living here in Belgium (Iwert's
country) and something I've found interesting is that plurals of
foreign-derived words have an apostrophe added! I don't know if it's
a formal rule of the langauge but it's pretty universal. Plurals of
Dutch words are formed by adding "s" or "en" (just like English as in
"children") but if the word is of foreign derivation by adding 's.

The Dutch also attempted some spelling rationalization some time ago,
spelling foreign words as they are pronounced. "Cadeau" (French for
gift) became "kado" and the plural (cadeaux) became kado's.

ps - Iwert probably meant Zebra's lines - yes, it should have been
zebras' lines (stripes)
