I don't think the ASA on the cartridge would matter, just make sure to put 
a label on it that clearly shows what film is inside (and at what ASA it 
was exposed at if you push or pull).

Other replies have mentioned using masking tape - good advice!

Some pitfalls I should mention about 'rolling your own'...

- Make sure your loader is not scratching film, there is nothing worse than 
filling 30 cartridges with film only to find out they all have tramline 
scratches.

- Same goes for reusing cartridges. They more they get reused the greater 
the chance the felt light-trap will pick up some grit to scratch the film.

- Label the cartridges clearly IMMEDIATELY after a loading session.  This 
is especially important if you are loading films with different ASA settings.

- Ask your local 1 hour lab for some plastic film cans to put the 
cartridges into. They normally just throw them away and in my experience 
are quite happy go give you a shopping bag full.
