I cannot say that I like one shot in preference to the other. The difference
for me is in the mood each image conjures up. Neither image suggests a down
and out to me..in both cases it is a laptop carrying worker returning home,
perhaps having alighted from the train or tube. The wider view of the second
image conveys an fairly uneventful observation. The first image, on the
other hand, is slightly disturbing, as the viewing position is aggresive and
threatening, as if seen through the eyes of an approaching predator.

I like the 2nd shot better. There's not much separation between the person
and
the background in the first shot, they sort of merge together. With the
second
shot they stand out much more.
You also see more of the mood of the light.
I'd say I like the framing better as well since it places the subject more
in a
scene. But I think if the lighting was better in the first shot I might
prefer
that shot, hard to say.
