We've drifted off of Moose's main point of what's the next competitive 
area for DSLR's to whether there will be many DSLR's at all.  I think AG 
is correct about history repeating itself.  Most of the low-end DSLR's 
will ultimately be abandoned in favor of the smaller and handier P&S. 
In fact, I think 90% of the P&S market is threatened by 3MP and greater 
camera phones.

I think only the higher end of the DSLR market will avoid the carnage here.
