Hi all,
two days ago I have unluckily experienced my first OM-related accident.
My trustworthy OM-4Ti and its natural companion (a 50mm f/1.4 MC) have badly
dropped on a table reporting a serious dent on the lens filter ring.
I have managed to fix the dent and, as a further attempt, I ingenuously put
a 49mm UV filter on the lens resulting in a very tight match of the two.
When attempting to remove the filter, which was - and still is - very
tightly attached to the filter ring, I have dismantled everything from there
to the aperture ring, resulting with both of them standing sadly in my
hands.
Now the lens has the front element totally exposed.
Having nothing to loose, at this point, I'm thinking to try and clean the
front elements (as they have a hint of fungi just behind them) but I cannot
manage to unscrew the filter from where it is attached (so it will be almost
impossible to reassemble the lens).
Supposing everything will go wrong, I've decided to search for a new 50mm
f/1.4: in particular, I'd like one with a high S/N (>1.100.000, you know
why) and a good to very good optical condition (no fungi, no cleaning marks,
no dust, no scratches). Cosmetics are not an issue, as long as there are no
dents on the filter ring.
If someone has one to offer, please respond me off list to this same
address.

PS: I know I should have left everything as it was after the accident and
let a repariman do the job, but I'm young and stupid... :)
