I have an E-1 and I continue to be happy with it. Its advantages
over the E-500 include the second LCD panel, its robustness and its
weather-proofing. It has a smaller number of pixels but it uses them
pretty well.

As far as noise is concerned I have not had a problem, but I don't
often shoot at high ISO. I did when I got the camera and 2 of the
results are at my FourThirds page:

Although the images are necessarily small, there is no real problem
with noise. If you want a full-size file, let me know.

I rather fancy the E-500 as well, by the way ... ;-)
