What I find a real hoot is that I have less problems with dust,
dirt and scratches on my 35mm scans than they do with their
dirty digital cameras. Maybe it's time for ICE to be
incorporated into the cameras????
Hmm.
Just maybe I'm onto something here. Anybody want to take bets
on this one? I think Nikon or Canon will be licensing Digital
ICE in their sensors/on-board processing within 18 months.
Could be the best of both worlds. With a fourth sensor channel
(IR maybe?) this could be easily done. Incorporate GEM and
Kodak just might survive to see another day.
BTW, I found a nifty trick with de-dusting my slides from the
sensor-dusting friends. I spray a brush with canned air and then
dust the slide with that. Always before I'd brush and squirt
the air directly on the slide and it would always leave all
sorts of groties behind. Now, the staticely charged brush just
pulls the dust right off the slide.
