Well, as long as we're inventing things how about an in-camera "healing 
brush".  Since very large sensor chips are exhorbitively expensive why 
not make up a large one from several smaller ones.  four 4/3's chips 
would make a full frame sensor except for the seams between them. 
Precision machining would make sure the gap was very small and the 
built-in healing brush would do the rest.  6x9 anyone?
