Plus, with a WR plate you need some sort of implement to tighten the fixing
screw adequately.  With a monopod, I'm currently using Benbo ball head,
which works rather well.  If I don't want to use the monopod, instead of
removing it I just slacken the ball clamping screw so it can move freely,
collapse the monopod to minimum length and tuck it under an armpit.  That
way, I don't leave it lying around anywhere, like I once did with a previous
monopod.
