Sometimes the color controls through the control panel for the display
are different. If you right click in the display area, select properties, then
tab to Settings and click advanced. You will see a lot of options depending
on your display adapter. There may be some important differences between
VGA and DVI on what can be set. Or there may also be difference in the
monitor control when you push the monitor menu buttons. I'm not sure all
the implications if you intend to calibrate your monitor, but I suspect there
will be better consistency with DVI as VGA converts to analog and back to
digital again at the monitor.
