It did sound like he used "plain" canned air but he talked about getting 
dirt and hairs (lint?) deposited on both his screen and sensor. Perhaps that 
also came out of the can but he thought it was stirred up from inside his 
camera. It sounds like you haven't seen problems from moving dust around 
inside your camera. He was especially misfortunate because he thought his 
sensor was clean but his viewfinder was driving him nuts ... so he ended up 
making a mess of everything.

I can imagine finding a source of black double sided tape thinking it would 
trap the dust, but finding out the painful way that it outgassed or it held 
the dust until a stream of air was used to clean the sensor whereupon it 
released everything creating an mini dust storm.

I'm hoping to reach the correct conclussions from the adventures of others. 
Boring can be good.
