I chose a constant aperture lens.  When shooting in manual mode it's 
important that the lens not change aperture on you as you zoom.  2.8-4 
isn't too bad since it's likely you're at f/4 or more to begin with. 
But I also want 2.8 at all times to help focus in the dark.
