Hey, you actually confirmed something that I wrote about
recently. The pictures were in the layout that you talked
about, but they ended up getting zapped because I thought they
had no artistic merit. They're all on the server, I just have
to insert them back in the HTML.
The essay did take a turn about halfway through. It ended up on
a subject that I had no intention of going to, but was inspired
to "blog" it out. It should probably be two seperate essays.
Usually I work backwards--starting with the outcome, but this
was a spewing that happened on a forced day off--half of which
was written in the waiting room of a hospital.

Not being snippy--please don't take this wrong, but I cannot
live in the world of "probably never happen unless". Anything
is possible and instead of a "challenge", I have to look at this
as an "opportunity". Sappy, I know, but compared to the rest of
our current life's plans, this would be a cake walk. The real
question is: "Do I want to do the project?"

Yes, this is a sick group. :) I write like I talk--except I'm
probably more verbose in person. Actually, I do some public
speaking and I'm able to get away with a lot more of the "unique
streams of consciousness" because of timing and inflection. I'm
also pretty animated when I talk too. However, the key to
survival is to make the content and delivery applicable to the
audience. This group is pretty forgiving. What is a real hoot is
that two of my brothers are writers, and almost my entire family
does technical writing. We speak and write almost identically.
Funny thing is that we take after one of our grandmothers who
was a prolific writer and wrote the same way. Drives Mom
nuts--especially during family get-togethers when we are
rattling on in geekspeak.
What has been fascinating about this particular essay is the
responses to specific lines that were written. Attempts at
"word pictures" have triggered unique responses and comments
from people. What worked for one person was lost on another, yet
nobody made a comment on the one I thought was the strongest and
most emotional--the one that made me nearly cry when I wrote it.
But was this special line a failure? I don't know as I cannot
see your faces when you are reading it. When speaking before
others I can see the responses or lack therof. I don't know if
you've gone "wow, that's deep" or "boy, what a bunch of glurge".
All I can do is write what I feel and post images that I've
taken and have the thick skin needed to tolerate "constructive
criticism" as well as "silence." Personally, I'd rather have
the criticism.
