You should feel the dark side of the frame, it's very full, if your
comparison is with film.

I'm not sure about 16x12, but 12x16 is doable. It really depends
on the subject matter and your expectations. Because the pixels
are clean, some subjects are better than film, but also film
details can be better. C.H.Ling had an interesting comparison a
while back. September 10, 2004 and I quote from his message:

"Talking about resolution I have to step in again, it is never possible that
a 5MP E-1 or 6MP 10D is better than ISO100 slides. During my Europe trip I
have a few slides that are taken with the Zuiko 21/2 and E-1 with 11-22 (at
11mm). There is one example, don't complaint about the slightly different in
object size, the resolution different between the two is very obvious."

I think we agreed then that as far as resolution goes for finer detail, you
can get more out of film. The clean E-1 pixels might scale better if the
subject matter does not require the resolution. Remember that even
at 5mp, these are still color interpreted pixels from the RGBG sensor
pixel pattern. fortunately it is luminosity that effects detail.

And as always, it is not really the image print size that matters, but rather
the viewing distance. The E-1 image at poster size is certainly very doable,
and reasonable, as long as viewing distance is considered.

At lot of times my technique is not up to the megapixels, but they are nice
when you want them.
