This looks VERY interesting. Three proof, as they say, is in the pudding, 
although I can think of more appropriate places to store slides. It's 
probably worth a test or two, anyway.

It it were me, I'd go for the 4000dpi equivelent version. I'm not so sure I 
would want the various ice versions applied, though. If I had old, filthy 
slides, that had been stored in the pudding, I would go for the ice. If they 
were old and faded, I might go with ROC, and I don't think GEM would be of 
any harm, although it might affect resolution. I wouldn't get the Dee 
version at all, as I've seen far too many minilabs ruin a perfectly good 
shot with too much highlight/shadow correction.

Like any other lab service, it is all a factor of the equipment and 
maintenance, and operator skills. At those prices, they probably let the 
scanner do the work and let the chips fall where they may. That could be bad 
or good.
