After posting that bokeh, you can't complain about mine any more. :-)

Read the reviews, D-Link has had lots of buyers who are unhappy with it.
Netgear has been working for me through two iterations. Even then, I
couldn't get the new 'g/b' router and the old 'b' on one machine to
talk. Well, it did for a few weeks, with the friendly help of a native
English speaker in the mid South working for Netgear support, then
mysteriously went away again. Fortunately, I don't use that machine
anymore, so the problem was academic, and I didn't pursue it further.

I don't buy any of this kind of stuff without finding user reviews on
Amazon, CNet, TigerDirect, etc. etc. Often, you don't even need to read
any details, product A gets a high number and B gets a low number and
there isn't any specs difference that makes any sense and they are about
the same price. When I was buying the latest wireless router, D-Link was
on the wrong end of the numbers. I think they weren't looking so hot at
PCMag at that time either.

In the case of my notebook, the reviews argued about how hot it gets and
the fan noise. So I found one on display at a retailer that is on
showing videos all day. Wasn't too hot for me and the fan isn't noisy.
Bought one and it's great.
