[OM] Re: E-500 and polarizer filter

I have a very good quality Hoya 62 mm linear polarizer from my Tamron
that I would like to use with a step down ring to 58 mm. A few bucks
for the ring is much cheaper than the huge ransome they want these
days for a high quality multi coated circular polarizer. It is the
beam splitter mirrors, from what I have read, that cause problems
with the linear polarizers, and I do not know it the E-500 uses them.
It can effect both auto focus and metering. I do not have my E-500
yet, but when I get it later this week, I intend to try it with the
linear polarizer. I'll report on the results.
