I have thought about this in a different context. I am often creating
.TIF versions of RAW files that I wish to move ultimately to a
different location from the folder where the RAW files will be. I am
going to experiment with writing a little batch file to the folder in
question that will allow me to open a command window (i.e., RUN > cmd)
and then the batch file would execute a DOS line like "move *.tif
c:\folder". ("Copy" would be safer, actually.)

Whether I will actually do this or not is subject to my general
laziness. Usually I don't think of it until I am about done
CTRL-clicking all the files I want to move, and I wonder why Windows
doesn't allow a global move or copy from one folder to another based
on filename extension. And it probably does and I just never learned
how.

I wouldn't think that there would be any reason why one could not use
the PC to manage the files on the CF card in the same way as long as
one knew what drive letter was going to be assigned to the card.
Probably would be a good idea to format the card in the camera before
shooting once again however.

DOS was better for this kind of thing. Not that I miss it too much.
