What do you think? Have you honestly asked yourself the question "What
will the E-1 give me that I don't already have?"

If it's just a case of itchy desire to buy something, consider how it
will feel a few days after you get it. I find that when I make that kind
of buy, I feel sort of let down soon after getting whatever it is. It's
addictive behavior and like all addictions, I would have to keep upping
the dose and the frequency. When I buy a piece of equipment that allows
me to do something new that I wanted to be able to do, the enjoyment
lasts and lasts.

In your shoes, equipment wise, I would be either saving my pennies for
the next pro E-thingie or buying an E-330. The 330 adds real function
that you don't have with the live view that can be used from above and
below and the very special and unique B Macro mode. The next round of
E-thingies will almost certainly add something you don't already have, too.

All the E-1 brings to the table, from this biased viewpoint, is less
resolution, more noise, perhaps a better viewfinder and, according to
others who have spent more than 15 minutes with one, better ergonomics.
Ergonomics are so personal, though, that you should play with one before
making a decision on that basis. AG's hands hate the Can*ns, mine like
them, as just one example among many. And live view would be worth more
to me than a slightly better viewfinder, YMMV.

Perhaps some other enabler will tell you to just go for it.
