Sorry James but I don't agree. Terrorists do not do cause these
things. If someone hits you and you become insular, defensive and
paranoic, the other person may have triggered something but did not
cause it. You could have reacted in many different ways.
Governments chose what policies to follow under external threats. And
the particular governments have chosen further polarisation
externally and politics of fear and intensification of social control
internally, curtailing many liberal rights. And I'm afraid, as others
have argued already, this road leads to a dead-end of paranoia; it's a
war that will never been won, because you can't defeat a fear that you
feed yourself. (Although the politics of fear is very useful for those
who wanted anyway less liberal and less democratic states..hmm!...)
However, I think the point now is to be aware of our civil liberties
and what about the law might say about photographers.
