I think this lens is based on the design of the Sigma 18-200mm/F3.5-6.3
DC.

Just look at the amazing similarities in the specifications:

Both lenses have 15 elements in 13 groups, including 2 ED elements
(Sigma calls them SLD) and two aspherical elements in an identical
architecture.

Both have a filter size of 62mm, 7 aperture blades and a closest
focusing distance of 45 cm.

Odd is the 20mm difference of the longest focal length.

The Sigma lens is not available in 4/3 mount, but last year it was
promised to be so. When I ordered my E-300 from TechnikDirekt.de it was
advertised as a kit with this Sigma, but after a while I got the message
that this lens 'was no longer available' and they sent me the Sigma
18-125mm/F3.5-4.5 instead with a reduced kit price (without even
consulting me if this alternative would me ok with me).

I wonder if Olympus made a deal with Sigma...
