Ah, yes, liquidity. That is a problem here too with many recent  
plumbing and drain problems in my old(by west coast standards) house.  
Just starting to think about this.

I appreciate your thoughts on the Canon, especially the speed of FARE  
compared to ICE and 12 slide holder. It may come down as to which  
will fit in the tight space I have for it. Yes, it is easy to fall  
into the trap of making decisions on small issues that will never be  
significant when the scanner is used. I had read the Epson review and  
the comparison to the Canon and had not even looked at the Canon  
review. I wonder whether VueScan will control FARE like does ICE.  
Will have to check that out.
