OK, results from the experiment are coming in. Just so it's clear. I
put FujiPress1600 in the camera thinking it was NPS160. I missed that
last zero as it disappeared around the film can. The ASA dial was set at
160. I expected the highlights to be totally blown and they pretty much
were. The girl running the machine at Costco was able to get some pretty
decent prints though. She seems to take her job seriously and works
hard. After talking to her a bit it was clear she had never tried to
pull process nor knew how to manually override the auto settings in the
correct direction so I didn't confuse the issue. She was perfectly
willing to adjust the prints though and did pretty well. (it pays to
treat your employees well and give them a decent wage unlike a certain
other major retailer)

I took a bunch of photos on our camping trip in the rain and fog hoping
to capture something of the mood. The skies tended to loose a lot of
detail and 3D effect. The trees on the other hand which were intended to
be silhouettes ended up exposed pretty well. So what I got back while
not what I had intended wasn't a total loss. There are a few more
general subjects on the roll too. I'll see what the scanner can pull out
and post them when I get a chance.

Mike
