As was previously stated, the capacitor in the flash likely blew.
However, the BG2 is probably fine.
Your question might end up like this:
1. Do you return the entire purchase?
2. Do you return only the flash?
3. Do you keep it all and get the 32 repaired?
4. If you keep only the BG2, do you purchase an OM-compatible flash
(Sunpak, Metz, Vivitar to work on the BG2? Here's where it could get
dicey- some flash unit's feet are a little wide for the BG2 compared to
the 32...
But, it you go this route and use a Metz or Sunpak, you can have the
ability to bounce flash in virtually any direction.
