Based on Moore's law (not really a law*) we can predict that memory density
(bits/$) will continue to double every 18-24 months. There are no secrets to
memory pricing and you should never be amazed at "how cheap memory is
becoming".

(* It's proven true over the last 40 years or so and so people think it's a
law)

So if you want to exercise your little grey cells a bit more, you can
calculate when we should be archiving on flash cards.  It's already cheaper
to archive on harddisks than on CDs or DVDs
