Tamron's 28~200 is a good example.  How many companies are selling a
Tamron design but have their name on it?  Both C@non and Minolt@ for
sure and likely N!kon as well.

My sense is that there is a LOT of that going on and those involved
sure don't want us to know about it as it dilutes and may wreck the
mystique.  I've already recounted for the list my experience when I
accidentally wandered into the OEM suite at COMDEX.  When they found
out I didn't belong there I was damn near tossed down the elevator
(lift) shaft -- without benefit of the elevator.
