Has anyone tried the "AF-Confirm" OM>EOS adapters that are on ebay? (~
$85)
I have been watching from the peanut gallery for developments in this area.
The "new" version my be black with some sellers and can report fl and aperture
(preset to 1.4 ,usually) in the exif file. The Asian supplier Johnny had some
trouble with is still selling them. A UK seller got a bit surly when I asked
him a few questions regarding the calibration for sharp focus with different
lenses in OM mount. They can tweak the firmware to change the focual point.
How universal the calibration is, is not clear to me. The UK seller had used
the chip with claimed succcess with the 5D and several Zuikos. He no longer
has any listed, which makes me suspicious. There is another supplier in Israel
and I may ask that seller a few ?'s. I was hoping to slay the Jabberwocky of
MF on the 5D with a combo of the chipped adapter and the angle finder. Will
wait for Jeff's opinion on use of the angle finder with slower lenses.
