Well, close. The OM-4 has some kind of target strucktured like a
waffle-iron which is located in front of the shutter curtain as long
as the mirror is down. This is obviously where the camera meters on
for manual- and spot-metering and for the finder-info in auto-mode.
When the mirror is moved upwards it flips up and lies flat on the
backside of the mirror in the upper part of the mirror-box.
It is that waffle-iron-like "target" where I found the black sticky
tape I suspect doesn't belong there.
