Seems like a couple of strange statements to me and I don't understand. 
  How does one compare quality to 35mm Velvia without regard to the lens 
that puts the image there?  How does a lens have better image quality 
than the 5D?  Do you mean that the lens can resolve more than the 5D's 
12.8MP?  How will you know when you have it?  By comparison with a 1DSII?
