Things to think about.
Handle them both. Which one is easier to pick up and take pictures
with without resorting to a manual. Which one feels better in the hand.
You are buying a system camera that you may want to add to. Maybe
think about what is available for them.
The 300D is the older design. The E-300 is more modern and has an 8MP
sensor. Those pixels are squeezed into a more compact shape resulting
in a higher equivalent resolution if it were a 3/2. If I were just
getting it to try out digital without adding to it and with the
option of reselling it if I did not like it I would go for the E-300.
