Jumping in a bit late here, but welcome Melanie. I got into L*ica
rangefinders because I'd heard they were almost as good as OMs...,-)
I second (or third or fourth by now) Chuck's recommendation. The OM-1md I've
had since 1976 came back from its spa treatment feeling and working better
than it ever had. "Buttery smooth advance" often comes to mind. Well worth
the price.
And then there's that incomparable viewfinder....ahhhhh.
