You can also mount M42, Contax, Nikon and other MF mount lenses on the
EOS with simple, cheap, adapters that don't need compensation optics for
infinity focus. In fact, FD lenses are close to the only ones that don't
match well with the EOS mount.
M42 in particular opens the door to a vast array of excellent,
inexpensive lenses.
