I used to favor bottom posting (having done Usenet news for years) but I've
sort of converted. If the majority of the message has been trimmed, it's not
hard to read the context if I need to. If I'm following a message thread in
my e-mail reader I have less need for the previous text. Also, it seems
that many e-mail programs (I'm using GMail right now) configure their
editors to do top posting and it takes more work to do bottom posting
(perhaps there is a setting I'm missing).

However, I have no real problem doing it either way and if the overall
preference is for bottom posting, that's what I'll do.
