I gave up on Graphic Converter some time ago I think when I moved
from PS Elements to PS 7.
The preservation of the original file in LightRoom and Aperture seems
like a good idea, but I have read some disturbing reports about the
inability of different applications to pick up and apply the
adjustment tags from another application. And even when they do I
wonder whether an image adjusted in Aperture for example will look
the same in something like LightRoom if I open it there because there
is an exclusive tool there that I want to use. Then will Aperture
pick that up and and combine it with its own file? I admit I am
flummoxed by the possibility of the added complexity of keeping track
of the little adjustment files. I wonder too whether it will be used
in the future as a way to keep one in the fold requiring one to throw
away many hours of work in order to change to a new application.
I probably should try one. I am probably imagining great impediments
that would disappear with familiarity.
