I trhink I had a 3040 which I gave to my daughter. I also bought a
later similar model 4040? which I gave to my sister for Christmas a
year or two ago.
My limited experience with it was that it was too bulky to be a pocket
camera but I would rather carry an SLR if it won't fit in a pocket. I
actually found the earlier C400? (looks like a stylus) pocket camera
more useful. So my recommendation would be to be sure the size of it
works for you.
