Jon

You have done quite a heroic thing here and I commend you on this. For
someone who was, a while ago, at the brunt of some of the harshest
criticisms as well as behind-my-back fruitless investigations, I understand
what Christos must be going through. The fact that I am in the IT industry
working as an IBM Business Partner was even commented upon. That was how
petty it became.

I do not intend to pour fuel to fire here but I'd just like to let you know
that in any forum including this one, there will always be people who think
they are more right than others, people who are not as tolerant of
non-native English-speaking members as they ought to as well as people who
make up their minds as to the fact that they know more about crystal-balling
than others. It is sickening and it is frustrating to deal with. I have had
chats with some of the most knowledgeable people I know of in all-things
Olympus - who also host their own websites - who put it best. One of them
said to me that he cant be bothered participating in such forums because
people here believe they know better than the camera designers and
engineers. Quite an interesting opinion, I must say, because after a while,
I began to see his point.
Opinions are important to be heard as much as they are to be respected. That
is the cornerstone of any reasonable forum and it is because of this that I
have essentially opted out from putting my two cents worth anymore. So all I
do these days is to go through all the mail messages that come through and
for most of them, I simply delete. I have read through some of them and it
is amusing to see how some people get things very wrong but the wrong
becomes accepted as facts. I cannot give you any particular example because
I simply delete them after a quick scan. And I no longer want to be involved
in <correcting> what I suspect might be wrong because I dont want to be
burned any further.
I sympathise with Christos and I commend you for your fire-fighting. This
forum needs more people like you to keep certain others at bay.

Regards

K.
