Paul:
My suggestion is that you retrieve the lens from the repair shop immediately
and ship it back to Scott for a full refund. That is the reasonable thing to do
and it is the way things are usually done between list members. You are simply
dragging things out and creating ill will unnecessarily.
To be frank, your reluctance to send the lens back and your comments about the
condition of the lens and the price you paid make it appear that you are simply
disatisfied with your purchase price and that you are trying to obtain a $75
discount from Scott by complaining of damage.
Just send the lens back and let this transaction die or accept your purchase
and stop trying to pressure Scott to accept your terms by complaining on the
list. This is not a list matter.
