The red and blue type.  I've only ever had to use the tool once but I 
used PW Pro's CA removal tool to remove red and blue fringing that was 
visible in brushed aluminum trim and it worked fine.  It was a scanned 
film image and I don't recall what lens was used to take it.  Might be 
that it wasn't even my own image.  It was long ago.

I've never seen any purple stuff yet (even with a Tokina 17mm on the 5D) 
that was bad enough to worry about.
