Apparently the ice isn't heavy enough (yet) to bring down the trees.
You may have a much different view if that happens.
I visited my son's house near Buffalo during Thanksgiving after their
freak snowstorm that dumped multiple feet of wet snow on trees still
carrying all their leaves. When I arrived I noticed a pile of broken
branches in the street about 15 feet in diameter and about 8 feet high.
When I walked into the house I commented to my son that I was very
surprised to see how much damage there had been to his trees based on
the size of the brush pile. Then he told me the real story. The huge
pile of debris in the street was the 6th such pile he had made. City
trash trucks had already hauled away 5 more just like it.
