That place kinda looks familiar, not that picturesque streams in the
Smokies don't all have a lot in common. I used to hike up there a
couple of times a year, usually in late fall after all the touridiots
were gone. Those of you familiar with Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse
Five might be interested to know a friend and I met Montana Wildhack
and Billy Pilgrim up on Inadu Knob in the Smokies some 20-25 years
ago. No kidding. She was a major dish and he had been a POW in
Dresden. They showed up after dark and asked if we'd mind of they
joined us. For the better part of a couple of hours we hung out
around a fire sipping good Scotch and swapping stories. My 'Nam stuff
paled in comparison to his Dresden stories, though. Even Ms.
Wildhack's beauty paled beside his stories. For once in my life I was
happy to shut the f- up and let someone else talk.
