I too add my sympathies to your loss. It seems that winter seems to take its
toll. My mom was a January death, my dad a February, my uncle a February (all
of these in years way past).
As for euphemisms -
The recently departed (they aren't coming back).
In Utah, it wasn't a wake, it's a viewing (do we get to charge admission?)
And lest we forget:
Gone Home.
