Starting the long process of going through mom's stuff. we ran across a
couple of boxes of old photos that none of use had seen. many date back
to early last century. And none are labeled!

Why didn't she so anything about passing on the info to us? It's
provided hours of amusement and head scratching. My brothers have pretty
much figured them all out but one husband-wife pair.

To the point: There was also a box of Kodachromes that look to date to
about 1942, showing mom and her family and dad sometime fairly shortly
before they were married, we think. Could even be earlier, as they went
to the 1939 Treasure Island World's Fair when they were first courting.

It was decided to use a couple of these on the photo collage at the
funeral, which gave me the perfect excuse to try something I've been
thinking of as an alternative way of converting film to digital.

Whaddya think of these full pixel samples?

The actual prints have the shadow on her face lightened some and include
her parents, etc. These samples have only been very lightly adjusted to
have similar colors, contrast, etc. Don't pay much attention to
differences in anything other than sharpness, detail, grain, etc., as
other aspects can be set as desired for either.
